Do you know for certain that you would go to Heaven if you were to die?

Increasingly, we live in a world where our next day or our next breath are not guaranteed. Many have put off the decision about their eternal soul, and unfortunately, they were never afforded another opportunity to settle this most important question.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." - 1 John 5:13

The truth is God wants us to know for a fact that Heaven will be our home someday, and He has given us the truths of His Word to lead us there.

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32

1 - Accept that you are a sinner

Our sins have separated us from God. Before Jesus can become your Savior and give you eternal life, you must know and accept that you are a sinner and in need of Him to save you.

"As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one:" - Romans 3:10

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" - Romans 3:23

2 - Agree that your sin must be paid for with death and Hell

According to God's Word, we are all sinners, and our sin must be paid for. If we fail to trust Christ in this life, we will die without Him and spend eternity separated from God in a literal lake of fire called Hell.

"For the wages of sin is death;..." - Romans 6:23a

"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." - Revelation 20:14-15

3 - Believe that Christ died for your sins and then rose again

The best news that anyone could ever tell you is that God loves you and His Son, Jesus Christ died for you.
All your sins were laid on Him.
He paid your sin debt in full.
He then overcame the power of death by raising Himself back to life.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8

"...I declare unto you the gospel...that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

4 - Turn from your sin and trust Christ as your Savior

Simply believing that God loves you, that you are a sinner, and that your sin must be paid for is not enough. You must be willing to trust God by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, or you will die without Christ.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." - Romans 10:9

Let's Review

1. Do you accept that you are a sinner?
2. Do you agree with the Bible that your sin must be paid for?
3. Do you believe that Christ died for you, then rose from the dead three days later?
4. Do you see that you must turn from your sin and trust Christ as your personal Savior?

If you now understand God's one and only way to Heaven, then do not pass up your opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.

"...behold, now is the accepted time; now is the day of salvation.)" - 2 Corinthians 6:2

In your own words, trust Christ right now with a prayer similar to the following:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I am genuinely sorry for my sin and I need to be saved. I believe that you died on the cross to pay for my sin, and that you rose from the  grave because of your power over death and hell. I am putting all my faith and trust in you alone to forgive my sins, save my soul and take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you Jesus for your gift of eternal life. Amen.

New life in Christ

At the moment of salvation, we are born into the family of God and begin our new life in Christ. This eternal life can never be lost or taken away from us. 

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish,..." - John 10:28
